മുളവറക്കല്ല് -1 / Mulavarakkallu -1

തൈക്കാപള്ളി കല്ലിൽ നിന്നും ഏതാണ്ട് 500 മീറ്റർ തെക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറായി കടലിനടിയിൽ കാണുന്നതാണ് മുളവറക്കല്ല്. 12 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള പാരിന്റെ മുകൾ പരപ്പ് നന്നേ ഉയർന്നതും പരന്നതുമാണ്. കോവളം കടലിലെ വലിപ്പമേറിയ പാരിടങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണിതെങ്കിലും ഇവിടെ ചിപ്പികൾ അധികം വളരാറില്ല. വർണ്ണ മത്സ്യങ്ങളും കുറവാണ്. വിവിധതരം സീ സ്പോഞ്ചുകളും ബർണക്കിളുകളും ചിലയിനം മത്സ്യങ്ങളും ഉള്ളയിടം. പാറകളുടെ മുകളിൽ കാണുന്ന അടരുകൾ ഒരുതരം വെളുത്ത നിറത്തിലുള്ള Moray eel ലുകൾ അവയുടെ താവളമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Around 500m southwest of the Thaikkappally rocky reef lies "Mulavarakkallu" / Mulavara rocky habitat. The top of the 12 m deep reef is broad and tall. Although this is one of the largest reefs in the Kovalam coast, the presence of mollusks and coloured fish are rare here. It's inhabited more by various types of sea sponge, barnacles and certain fish species. The rocks have flappy openings which are inhabited by white-coloured Moray eels.
